The Soft Tissue Grafting course continues the practical application of the Pikos Institute Philosophy in soft tissue management for implant reconstruction. It is designed for clinicians who wish to develop proficiency in performing implant soft tissue surgery.

 

This advanced level course is for clinicians who desire to improve their knowledge and surgical skill sets in soft tissue grafting for implant dentistry. This course emphasizes reverse tissue engineering in optimization of soft tissue architecture for implant site development, surgical implant placement and peri-implant maintenance. The entire spectrum of soft tissue surgical techniques will be presented, including soft tissue augmentation and related periodontal plastic surgical procedures. A dedicated section of this course will address esthetic zone reconstruction in addition to soft tissue complications. This course will also include implant site development, a hands-on soft tissue grafting workshop and LIVE surgical demonstration cases.

Dr. Mike E. Calderón is the founder & President of the Calderón Institute. He received his DDS Degree from Case Western Reserve University, School of Dentistry in 1994. Dr. Calderón completed the 2-year NYU-CDE Implant and Prosthetic Program where he continued on as an Associate Clinical Professor at NYU for 12 years. Throughout his career he has placed more than 8,000 implants and performed more than 400 Lateral wall Sinus lifts. Dr. Calderón lectures and instructs on all aspects of Implant Surgery & Prosthetics, nationally and internationally. He is a Diplomat of the ABOI as well as the ICOI. He established a private practice in Suffolk County, Nassau County, and New York City, where he provides both advanced surgical & prosthetic phases of Implant Dentistry for his patients.

This advanced level course is for clinicians who desire to improve their knowledge and skill sets in hard tissue grafting for implant dentistry. A sequential 3D digital diagnostic protocol will be utilized to improve patient selection, graft site evaluation, harvest site assessment and to minimize complications. Contemporary surgical bone grafting protocols, including extraction site management, ridge expansion, GBR, mesh with BMP and autogenous block grafting will be presented. A dedicated section of the course will address bone grafting complications.
